Raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Lance Lokas is a photographer interested in exploring global phenomena and structures of power through their realizations in the daily lives of individuals and their communities. As an Arab and East Asian photographer, Lance’s work is informed by his experiences seeing the effects of imperialism and exploitation in the daily lives of his community, both here and abroad. His interests lie in making work about faith, capitalism, community, and resistance, telling stories about how people strive to create new conditions and realities for themselves. Lance is currently a Senior studying photojournalism and anthropology at the George Washington University.
